Escaping the Summer Heat at the Water Park

Young girl playing on a water parkWaterparks offer a great way to escape the heat of summer and have lots of fun. Compared to roller-coaster parks, these parks have rides that are less intimidating, so even the youngest members of your family can enjoy the trip. Here are some tips to keep in mind when visiting a water park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Prepare for your trip.

Preparation is key to make sure that you do not miss anything. Don’t forget to bring your bathing suit and some spare clothes. Bring some sunblock, lip balm, sunglasses, towels, and comfortable footwear. Flip flops or sandals are best.

Come early.

If you come as soon as the park opens, you could enjoy a few hours when there are still few people, and the lines are still short. Likewise, you will most likely find vacant locker rooms where you can change and keep your things.

Do the essentials.

Apply sunscreen or sunblock every four hours during your trip. Remember to apply it 20 minutes before exposing yourself to direct sunlight. Make sure to bring lots of water for drinking. Water at the park is not considered safe or potable.

Enjoy the rides.

Plan on which rides to try first. Get a map so you can choose the rides you want. This will save time as walking from one ride to another can waste it. If you want to take the popular rides, it would be best to do it early in the day or in the evening when there are fewer people around. By mid-day and afternoon, the lines may be long, so try the less popular rides then.

Keep these tips in mind when going to a water park with your family and friends. You will enjoy spending the day with them and taking in the refreshing coolness of water everywhere.
