Sky Media managing director Nicholas Milligan has died in a speedboat accident in Cornwall. Milligan, 51, was declared dead in Padstow after the accident on May 5. His eight-year-old daughter also died in the tragedy. His wife Victoria, son Kit, 4, and two daughters Amber, 12, and Olivia, 10, were also in the accident. They are now undergoing treatment and clinical observation in Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Doctors said the injuries of the survivors were “life-theratening.”
A spokesperson from Sky said expressed the company’s sympathy to the family. Much respected in the industry, Milligan had been the managing director since 2004. He was also hailed as one of the media leaders of the decade by Campaign and Media Week. Before his stint at Sky, Milligan had worked at Channel 5 in 1996 as a founding director, and played an important role in the launch of the channel. You can read the rest of the story here.
